SFFD proposed lock box system
Updated June 17, 2009
Grassroots victory for SFAA members!
Thank you for taking the time last week to email the San Francisco Fire Department about the proposed new Lock Box program.
The Fire Marshal reported receiving more than 140 emails from SFAA members opposing this potentially costly and untested new program.
It is our understanding that the program has been turned into a VOLUNTARY program as opposed to a MANDATED program.
Congratulations on saving San Francisco rental housing owners another costly fee and tax!

The Fire Department is going the implement an expensive solution to a very simple problem if you do not ACT NOW.
Installation of an expensive Lock Box system ($350.00) and costly yearly inspection fees are going to cost you more money! This is just another assault by the bureaucrats at City Hall!
E-mail your opposition now to FireMarshal@sfgov.org
We contacted you yesterday about this and the city has received no response.
If you can’t e-mail, please attend the public hearing tomorrow:

The San Francisco Fire Department is contemplating the introduction of a new "approved" lock box system for rental housing owners in San Francisco.
This approved lock box system would hold keys to your building so that the Fire Department can readily access them in the case of an emergency.
Please take the time to review the websites referenced below and weigh in with your comments by writing the commission or appearing before the commission for public comment:
